Priorities

I am concerned for the wellbeing of my education.
Not only are we doing a new qualification, but I have observed that our school does not have a great record.
The reason our school gets good marks overall I think is because intelligence comes to them, rather than them cultivating it. Our school is more about culture and society etc..
Sure SMT know the difference between appreciate and appreshiate but really..
Some of the girls in Orakei tutoring can hardly read themselves.
If they can read then they can't add 2 + 20.
I walked into s1 today and on the board was this stuff for year8 health and safety cooking prep and (it was written by the teacher) it said 'Group members will also need to be allocated rolls i.e. cook, leader, cleaner of dishes, in charge of toppings etc'
0.0
Of course she could be referring to the bread rolls (it is a cooking prep class) but i doubt there are artisan rolls called 'leader' or 'cleaner of dishes' or 'in charge of toppings'.
Sacre bleu.
Economics is so boring.
I think it's really the pace we are going at.
I can't even have enlightening debates with a classmate because a)class is too small and b)there is no one worth having a debate with.
At the beginning of the lesson the pe teacher was in and said that they were rostered on for this period in s1.
After deliberating for a while the other 3 members of my class decided that it would be a perfect time to have a free and go get a coffee from the cafe up the road.
I could hardly stand against a staff member and nearly 30 year8 kids on my own so I left to go wander around or find a teacher or visit another class or something... idk i was kinda lost.
But just as they came out of the sports centre our teacher came along and they were all overjoyed to see him when he suggested we go kick them out of the classroom.
The most exciting and interesting and worthwhile thing i learnt in the last half an hour is how to change my word from US English to UK English...
Seriously idk why the default is US.
They can't spell.
My theory is that a 'distinguished american gentleman' accidentally left the 'i' out of aluminium and rather than admit his stupidity, he decided that that is how they're going to spell it in america. Who is going to oppose him? Women? Servants?
I think not.
On another completely unrelated note, I want to go to HK in the holidays sometime (summer holidays or preferably september hols)...
Everyone's always raving about HK with it's shopping and lights and shopping and it's got quite a high hdi...
Oh and the shopping.
Have I mentioned the shopping??
Well I should go now... about to go to english...
One of the only departments that saves our 'community'.

  3. OMG HK :D I wanna go back too, haven't been there for years.

Also yesterday in the physics test marking scheme I spotted an improper use of apostrophe (It's instead of its) but let's face it, we're all human. I corrected it in red pen :]
