Eaten so much today...

sucks that it wasnt good food though hahaa

mum and bro came back just then with leftover/takeaways from new crystal harbour

anybody been?

when they go to yumcha they always bring back turnip cake whatever u call it...

luo buo gao that thing

and they also brought a couple of egg tarts too

so yeah i havent tried much from crystal harbour have i? hahahaaa

i heard they stole some chefs...

but whatever

the luo buo gao was good. although inconsistent. one of them was done perfectly and anothe rwas kind of... slightly iffy but not horrible.

the egg tart was good though

im usualy hesitant with egg tarts because i like the idea of them just cz theyre like the only asian tarts there are. so i usualy take one but i dont usualy love it.. par exemple the ones from classic asian bakehouse the pastry is uber flaky which is prety good depending onw hat u like (although everything of theirs is kinda flaky or something) but they torch the top so to me anyway, its not very 'classic asian' appealing.

the crystal harbour egg tarts perhaps the best egg tarts ive had (that i can remember anyway l0lz)

the pastry is shortcrust rather than flaky which i personally prefer cz rather than shtting flake everywhere it like falls apart but still is stable together

and i swear theres also some ginger or something in there...

the egg tart custard was also good because it wasnt overly eggy or overcooked like some can be which realy realy annoys me. i dont want a steamed egg for dessert. if i did. i would havae ordered one.
